Staff augmentation vs project outsourcing
When you outsource a project, you hand over a scope and get deliverables. When you augment staff, you add a person to your team. They join your standups, follow your branching strategy, and report to your tech lead. The distinction matters because expectations, pricing, and success metrics are completely different.
We place senior engineers — typically five or more years of production experience — who can work without daily hand-holding. That does not mean no oversight; it means your tech lead spends time on architecture and review, not explaining how git works.
How hiring from India actually works
Most of our augmentation clients are in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, and the UK. Time zone overlap is usually four to six hours, enough for real-time collaboration if standups are scheduled accordingly. Async communication fills the rest — written specs, recorded Loom walkthroughs, PR descriptions that explain why, not just what.
Rates run 40–60% below local senior hires in Singapore, not because quality is lower but because cost of living differs. You still need someone on your side who can evaluate code in review; we make that easier by placing engineers who write tests and document decisions.
Trial period and replacement
Fit matters. If the engineer is technically strong but not gelling with your team culture in the first two weeks, we swap without charging for lost time. Long-term engagements work best when both sides treat the developer as a teammate, not a rented pair of hands.
